Black Friday Fee-Waived Adoption Event at Metro East Humane Society

About this event

Metro East Humane Society's annual Black Friday adoption event: all adoption fees are waived for the day at both MEHS shelters, so dogs (and cats) can go home for the holidays free of adoption fees. Date: Friday, November 27, 2026 (Black Friday) Time: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST Where: MEHS Edwardsville, 8495 State Route 143, Edwardsville, IL 62025 (this listing's pin). The same fee waiver runs at MEHS Highland, 510 W Monroe St, Highland, IL 62249. How it works (from MEHS): albums of adoptable pets and appointment slots go up closer to the event date. Without an appointment, pets are available first come, first served. In 2025, more than 80 pets went home from this event. Cost: free to come; adoption fees waived for the event. MEHS's usual adoption application and process still apply. Contact: MEHS Edwardsville (618) 656-4405, info@mehs.org; MEHS Highland (618) 654-6067, highland@mehs.org.
