Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade & Bark in the Park

About this event

Baton Rouge's dog Mardi Gras parade is back. CAAWS (Capital Area Animal Welfare Society) hosts its Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade with Bark in the Park at Galvez Plaza downtown, an all-day party with local pet vendors from 10am to 4pm. Schedule: Baton Rouge Police Department K-9 demonstration 11–11:45am, dog costume contest on the Galvez Plaza stage noon–1pm, parade lineup on St. Ferdinand St 1–2pm, parade rolls down North Blvd 2–3pm, then an After Pawty on the Galvez Plaza stage 3–4pm. Free to come watch. If you want to walk your dog in the parade or enter the costume contest, register through CAAWS ahead of time (parade shirts are sold there too). It's CAAWS' biggest fundraiser of the year, and 100% of proceeds go to their spay and neuter programs.
