About this event
Final day of the Lotto Alaska Open North American Championship, the Alaska Dog Mushers Association's sprint sled dog race, which ADMA bills as the longest continuously-run sled dog race in the world (ADMA is celebrating 81 years of hosting it). Dozens of teams from around the world race the three-day event, Friday March 19 through Sunday March 21, out of Mushers Hall on Farmers Loop Road. Sunday is the longest heat: 27.6 miles, with the race starting at 1:00pm. ADMA's where-to-watch guide points spectators to the fence along the lower field at Mushers Hall (park in the designated spectator parking and leave the mushers' parking area to the teams and handlers), plus trail-viewing spots like Creamer's Field and the back lot of the Fairgrounds. Can't be there? ADMA streams it live on its Facebook page, and it's on KFAR radio and Voice of Denali.
