Pups & Pumpkins: Howl-o-Ween Dog Day at The Living Desert — Palm Desert, CA

Pups & Pumpkins, the Howl-o-Ween edition of Dog Day at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert, Friday, October 30, 2026. Bring your dog to the Zoo during regular hours, 8:00am–5:00pm PT, and come dressed up: there are trick-or-treat stations for dogs and their humans, and costumes (on dogs and people) are encouraged all over the Zoo. Costume parade at 10am, followed by a costume contest. The Zoo's Dog Days lineup lists this edition at 9am while regular Zoo hours start at 8am, so check the Zoo's page for the day's schedule. Tickets: each dog needs a $35 Dog Day ticket, and every person in your group needs Zoo admission or a membership. Dog Days are limited capacity and have sold out before, so buy ahead. Dogs must be with an adult 18 or older. Rules: dogs need an up-to-date rabies vaccination and must stay on a non-retractable leash no longer than six feet at all times, even in a carrier or stroller. Stick to the main paths. Dogs can't go into the walk-through aviaries, indoor restaurants (outdoor patios are fine), the nature trails, the splash pad and a few other spots shown on the Zoo's Dog Day map. Dogs only, no other pets. Not recommended for puppies, sick or injured dogs, or females in heat. Water bowls are set out around the Zoo. Details and dog tickets: livingdesert.org/events/dog-day
