The San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission has designated this area as an off-leash dog park for residents and their pets. Opened in 2014 as part of a renovation project on former Central Freeway land, the facility includes a 7,000 sq. ft. dog park and a 72,000 sq. ft. skate park. The park is managed by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and serves the dense South of Market neighborhood.
